Yin Yoga to Candle Light

Yin Yoga uses traditional yoga asanas that require less of an external effort but have a deep effect resulting in stretching of connective tissue and opening of pathways to allow flow of energy. To quote Paul Grilley, who had been on the forefront of promoting this practice, "The main differences between a Yin and a Yang (more strenuous and external) Yoga practice are that Yin postures should be done with the muscles relaxed and be held a long time. This is because connective tissue does not stretch like muscles and will not respond well to brief stresses."

The class, instructed by Ronen, will include use of props such as sand bags, belts, bolsters and eye-pillows. Asanas will be held 3 to 8 minutes each, using very little, if any, muscle effort. You may feel very relaxed and heavy after class, even slightly lightheaded, so driving back home should be done with caution. The class will be typically given at the regular studio schedule on the second Monday and fourth Thursday of the month. Please check the calendar as dates may change. Cost is the same as regular yoga classes. No previous knowledge of Yin yoga is required. Accommodating all levels.
